I know I'm pretty much inactive here (and I dunno WHEN I'll submit something again..) but I thought I should at least come on to wish all you guys a merry Christmas; don't wanna neglect my dA friends. Hope you guys and your families are doing well and enjoying the holidays!

I've been focusing on my art quite a bit, lately. Aside from uploading a few things in the past few days (only a few, but that's more frequent than usual, right?), I've been studying, experimenting and practicing whenever I can. It's only about a year from now that I'll be in art college... I think it's time I put myself into gear and start getting serious with my art.

I actually went sort of off-track there... although that was still relevant. I wanted to ask you guys what you want to see me draw more of. As an artist, one of my biggest priorities is to please my audience; to appeal to them, to make them happy in some way. I don't do that often, really, but it's important, to me. When I draw with this mindset, I feel I do better; I feel more purpose in doing my best on this picture.

So, what would you guys like me to try out or do more of? More animals? Original characters and things involving them? Creature designs? Or... dare I say, fan art, which I've been trying to stray away from but may consider every once in a while if people would like it.

This is not a journal for requests. Sorry to say, I'm done with those; I realized I really can't handle them.

EDIT: Good God, all of them filled up within less than thirty minutes... I'm not sure whether to feel flattered or frightened. XD;

A prime example of why deviantART is so damn screwed up. Here's a truly talented, imaginative artist who puts her all into her work... but scarcely anybody notices her art. Wanna know why? Because of WHAT she draws.

She doesn't draw Kingdom Hearts fanart, or Final Fantasy fanart, or Zelda or Sonic or Naruto or whatever-the-hell-else-is-popular fanart. She doesn't draw yaoi pics with shotacon boys, or yifftastic furries or any of that shit. She draws what SHE likes, HOW she likes. But because dA is so fucked up, nobody seems to give a shit about her art because she doesn't draw anything they view as popular.

You wanna know why I have so many watchers? Why I have so many pageviews and favorites? It's because I drew a crapton of shitty Nintendo fanart. I GUARANTEE you guys, if I had never drawn a single piece of fanart - at least of media that was relatively popular - I'd be way, WAY less popular.

Because over 50% of the people here are so close-minded about art, or have the same damn "taste" as everyone else, so many good artists like Shinoka go unnoticed... leaving her to think she fails at art and will never accomplish anything in it. BECAUSE NOBODY COMMENTS ON OR FAVES OR EVEN LOOKS AT HER ART. If she drew a bunch of what I mentioned above... it'd be a different story, let me tell you.

I guess the only way for her to get any sort of attention is to post her art here... which I'll do. I'm not demanding you guys to go praise her and fave her stuff... but, hopefully, people will actually NOTICE her, through this journal.

Some of the colorless pictures may be hard to make out in these thumbnails... but that doesn't mean you can ignore them. At least look at them up close before judging them...
